Feedback from Work Placement Students 2010

My Name is Eimear O Leary and I am currently a Transition year Student in Colaiste an Croi Naofa Carraig Na Bhfear . In the transition year program we had to complete a two week period of work experience. We were advised to choose the area we are interested in persuing a career in the future. I already had a personal interest in apple computers and  so I wanted to learn more.

I completed my work experience in Apple Reseller in Compu b, Opera Lane, Cork.

From this experience i have developed certain skills such as:

  • Dealing with customers on a one to one basis
  • Advising them about different Apple products
  • I have learned how to work the till and credit card machine
  • I have learned much more information about apple products
  • To always keep the display units updated and tidy
  • The experience has also made me more self confident

The staff at Compu b were very helpful in training me in and showing me how everything works. They are experts on the apple products and they gave me a’lot more information on the products. They also gave me advice on dealing with customers.

This experience has helped me in many ways and I am now really considering a career in the computer industry for the future.

Thanks so much to Niall David Ger and Andrew for all their help and advice.
